Plant Species Restoration
Following the removal of invasive species along the North Riverside Trail, KRC biologists assessed the native plants growing in the area and developed a plant pallet that will enhance the trail and picnic tables with color and shade while restoring some of the species that are important to wildlife, such as: Digger Pine (Pinus sabiniana), Western Redbud (Cercis occidentalis), Oregon Ash (Fraxinus latifolia), Flannel Bush (Fremontia california) and Wild Rose (Rosa species). The invasive species removal and native plant restoration project is supported by funds from the Martin Family Grant and Proposition 84.
